EXACTLY ONE WEEK prior to the airing of the requel of the famed GMA Network Fantasy series, ‘Encantadia,’ we can only feel nothing but excitement for the 2016 version of the show, hoping this one won’t disappoint.
When Encantadia first came to our television screens in 2005, we didn’t know we would love it, much for it to become phenomenal, and since then has been known as one of the most popular fantaserye in Philippine TV. It is safe to say that it has also become a significant contribution to modern Filipino pop culture.
With its massive success, the requel is expected to provide GMA 7 with soaring ratings.
Whether we admit it or not, when the new cast was revealed, there were mixed reactions from diehard Encantadiks to newly interested fans. Many of those who were able to follow the first version can’t help but feel nostalgic about the original casts while there are also those who are very optimistic about the new line up of sang’gres. Though there are different reactions, we can’t deny the fact that Encantadia is still a fantaserye that millions of Filipino viewers are highly anticipating of.
Definitely, the new designs are different from the first ones. There may be fans who still can’t let go of the original designs, but the redesigned costumes are undeniably to die for also. Let’s just wait and see how these costumes look and feel when already on the screen.
Though the new Encantadia, which will start airing July 18, is a requel or retelling of a sequel, fans and the general TV viewers can expect a lot of new amazing changes and additions. The new costume design alone is something that makes the impatient fans go gaga over the requel.

Reuniting in the requel, the Royal Couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are also expected to help further boost the expected high rating of the show. Surely, fans will also be delighted with their character’s new costume design.
The fantaserye’s teaser trailer was first aired last month while the new official trailer was first aired July 5 on Kapuso’s primetime news program 24 Oras. In 2005, Encantadia has reached its highest viewer rating of 51.7% according to AGB Nielsen Philippines. With the awesome and appealing trailers, Encantadia is geared to smash the ratings game and break new records.
Because the new version is a retelling, fans are up for surprises in the plot twists.
