The Kapuso and Kapamilya networks have been big parts of our lives. Aside from our family and friends, their shows and artists accompany us in our daily lives. We also have our own favorites, usually the shows we keep tuning in on are those of our idols.
But, like the TV show and serye enthusiasts that we are, we always hunger for more. And the two biggest PH networks never fail to amaze us with better ones. Here are some of the upcoming Kapamilya and Kapuso shows we really need to watch out for.
1. Captain Barbell (Kapamilya)
There’s nothing official from ABS-CBN yet, but according to some sources if the projected date goes right, Captain Barbell on TV will be aired against GMA’s Encantadia by late this year. Just like its air date, nothing’s still final when it comes to who will play the part. Although there are rumors that it would be anyone among Paulo Avelino, Enrique Gil, Gerald Anderson, or Coco Martin. It’s highly likely that Dreamscape Productions will offer the role to Coco Martin since every serye he makes has high ratings. But another rumor mill says that it would be offered to Enrique Gil since it’s Liza Soberano’s name that tops the poll for the TV version of Darna.
2. My Love From The Star (Kapuso)
Who didn’t fall in love with this Koreanovela’s Matteo Do? Because we all do, the story deserves to have a Pinoy adaptation. And who else will better play the part, but our even more loved Alden Richards? There’s no official release date yet, but this will surely be a hit! Of course, if ever this show pursues, there will be no other partner we’d love to see Alden do the show but his very own Menggay, Maine Mendoza. Nice romantic-comedy storyline and lovely lead casts. This will also be Maine’s first TV show as a leading lady. It’s really getting big for the beloved AlDub! Originally, it was plan for Jennylyn Mercado and Alden but considering the popularity of Alden and Maine’s love team, that may not be a good idea for GMA. Fans could just hope however that Maine’s talent camp, TAPE would be kind enough to let Maine do the show.
3. Never Ever Say Goodbye (Kapamilya)
A TV remake of the 80’s hit movie Kastilyong Buhangin will heat up your primetime nights. Jericho Rosales as Waldo and Arci Munoz as Aryann. This one will be very interesting to see because a Nora Aunor character will be played on by today’s one of the sexiest leading ladies, Arci. We can’t wait to watch how the Kapamilya network would add twists and turn the original screenplay with the upcoming TV show. It’ll also be exciting to catch everybody’s girl crush Arci Munoz hit the screen again.
4. Sinungaling Mong Puso (Kapuso)
If ABS-CBN decided to relive a Nora Aunor hit, GMA on the other hand will soon release a Vilma Santos famous film, Sinungaling Mong Puso. As intense as it was way back in the bigscreen, the casts today led by Rhian Ramos, Rafael Rosell, Kiko Estrada, Glydel Mercado, and Michael De Mesa, will make it equally intense in the TV scene. This fiery Kapuso show will be up on the screen this coming Monday, July 18 on GMA’s Afternoon Prime.
5. The Greatest Love (Kapamilya)
It’s not Mother’s Day nor Mother’s month, but hey, we should always give credit to our loving mothers just like how they love and care for us in every day of our lives. This upcoming story will showcase how a mother’s love knows no boundaries, accept all flaws, and choose what’s best for her children despite every struggle and shortcoming. The show will star award-winning actress, Sylvia Sanchez, as a normally imperfect mother who later on develops an illness. Her children will be Dimples Romana, Matt Evans, Aaron Villaflor, and Andi Eigenmann who have hidden angsts to one another brought about their interesting setup. It will be released this month on Kapamilya Gold.
6. Encantadia (Kapuso)
Way back when we were younger, 4 Sang’gres with different powers live amazingly with their Inang Reyna in their kingdom, Encantadia, until mishaps happen and made us all hooked with the plot. On Monday, July 18, Kylie Padilla as Amihan, Glaiza De Castro as Pirena, Gabbi Garcia as Alena, Sanya Lopez as Danaya, and Marian Rivera as Inang Reyna will relive that fantastic fantasy world we once lived in our dreams. There will also be special participations from Dingdong Dantes, Sunshine Dizon, Max Collins, Rocco Nacino, Christian Bautista, and John Arcilla. And who doesn’t miss Imao? For millennials out there, you’ll have to meet him and surely, you’ll love his character, too, like we did back in the day.
7. Till I Met You (Kapamilya)
Of course we can’t let this list pass without a JaDine project mentioned. After making us laugh, cry, and swoon over the now-defunct On The Wings Of Love, James Reid and Nadine Lustre will make us fall in love again and again, with the Ultimate Hugot Director Antoinette Jadaone, in their upcoming serye due in September. According to the real-life couple, the plot was inspired by their true-to-life love story. The teaser was launched in their past press conference confirming the much-awaited comeback in Primetime Bida. Oh, September, come now!
Isn’t this list full of exciting and interesting Kapamilya and Kapuso shows we’d love to see soon? We feel you, we’re drooling as well, too. Which TV shows are you rooting for? Let us know in the comments below.
