‘Dukot’ movie showcases Enrique Gil in a different light

Dukot Movie 2016 Enrique Gil

EXPECT A DIFFERENT ENRIQUE GIL in Director Paul Soriano’s recent movie offering, ‘Dukot’ as the action-packed, thrilling, cutting-edge film showcases the romantic-comedy actor in a role new to him, and his followers.

This was the promise of Direk Paul during our recent meet up with him and the cast at the press conference held in Quezon City last week. Enrique said the role is different from what he’s done before that’s why he immediately accepted the role when it was offered to him.

In ‘Dukot,’ Enrique plays the role of a kidnap-for-ransom victim who suffers in the hands of his kidnappers. Watch the video below for more details about his role.

‘Dukot’ will be competing against ‘Imagine You and Me’ of the phenomenal love team, ‘AlDub’ starring Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza that also opens in theaters on July 13. Both movies premiered tonight, July 12.

We are sure to be watching both films. Expect our movie reviews on this blog this week.

For Direk Paul, to be having two Filipino films in one week is good news for the local cinema that’s often penetrated by Hollywood films. “At least, moviegoers have some movies to choose from,” said the director. He pointed out that the films are of different genres, and it is good for the Filipino film industry.

Direk Paul, who directed award-winning films ‘Thelma’ and ‘Kid Kulafu,’ among other award-winning films he produced, ‘Dukot’ is already an award for him. To be able to tell such a story based from real-life events, and involving a middle class family is already a fulfillment, the director said.

Co-produced by Ten17 Productions and Star Cinema, the film also stars Shaina Magdayao, Ricky Davao, Christopher De Leon, Bangs Garcia, Alex Vincent Medina, Ping Medina, Dino Pastrano, and Bing Pimentel.
