THOUGH SHE’S BEEN vocal about it before, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach reiterated on ‘Gandang Gabi Vice’ on Sunday, April 2 that she wants to play the Filipina superhero ‘Darna.’

Wurtzbach and controversial boyfriend, race car driver Marlon Stockinger, are tonight’s guests on the Sunday late-night show on ABS-CBN. Vice Ganda raised the question after noting that former Miss Universe candidate from Israel, Gal Gadot, plays ‘Wonder Woman’ in a soon-to-be-released Hollywood movie.

“Siyempre gusto ko,” Pia said. She then swapped out the usual “Pia Wurtzbach, Philippines” line used in pageants for “Pia Wurtzbach, Darna!” In Mars Ravelo’s comics, the character Narda shouts “Darna” whenever she wants to transform into the sexy, costumed superhero.

She managed to snatch the third Miss Universe crown for the Philippines. She even won the heart of international car racer Marlon Stockinger. Will Pia Wurtzbach win the role of Darna this time?

ABS-CBN has yet to name the actress who’ll replace Angel Locsin in the role of this much-loved Filipina superhero. Our insider, though, tells us the role will go to a favorite Kapamilya star, whose name we’ll reveal in our next ‘Darna’ post.

As some may recall, Angel had to give up the role, since she could no longer keep up with its physical demands.
