NOT LONG AGO, my friend Isa and I were raving about the newly released Starbucks app. Months later, it’s found its way onto Filipino phones and into Filipino hearts, appreciated for the convenience it brings every coffee lover.

Simple, fast, and a genuinely convenient payment method, the app gets even better by folding in the Starbucks Card and My Starbucks Rewards.

Keith Cole, head of marketing at Starbucks Philippines, says bringing the app to Filipino customers doesn’t just let them earn stars at their fingertips — it also keeps them engaged with Starbucks online.

“This is the latest Starbucks innovation which aims to provide an enhanced experience and meet customers’ needs in the digital space, while continuing to provide an exceptional experience in our stores,” says Cole.

A feature called “Shake to Pay” lets customers shake their phones to bring up a barcode that can be scanned to pay and redeem. Because the app is linked to a My Starbucks Rewards account, balances update automatically with every use.

The app also keeps customers in the loop on new products and promos, notifying them the moment new messages come in. Starbucks® PH app users get special offers and event invitations sent straight to their app inbox — and can share those offers with friends over email or social media.

A store locator makes it easy to find the nearest branch, along with other nearby recommendations, and the app also holds a full menu of beverages, food, packaged whole bean coffee, seasonal offers, and a newsfeed of the latest merchandise.
