MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Most airport hotels sell you a bed and a wake-up call. Savoy Hotel Manila is selling space.
That’s the word the new hotel keeps coming back to, and it’s aimed at a wide net of guests: the businessman with a meeting in the morning, the couple waiting on tomorrow’s flight to a dream vacation, the writer who just needs a break from the desk at home. All of them can check in this 2018.
The hotel sits on Andrews Avenue in Newport City, the resort and entertainment complex in Pasay, just a kilometer from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Manila’s main international gateway. That puts dining, shopping, and entertainment within walking distance, with the promise of somewhere quieter to retreat to once the city’s usual pace gets to be too much.

A Hotel Built Around Shared Spaces
Savoy’s pitch goes beyond square meters. The hotel says it’s designed to build relationships and encourage collaboration. “We create spaces for creativity and recreation, areas to be on your own and enjoy that much-needed personal space to be you,” the management said in a message sent to TravelMore.PH.
The clearest example is the Squares, co-working spaces placed on several guest floors and open to guests at any hour. “Whether it’s a space for sharing or relaxation, a space to express, or a space to co-exist and collaborate, these shared areas are perfect for casual group hangouts, intimate chats as well as for individuals to simply relax.”
The spaces are themed, too, so art enthusiasts, bookworms, music lovers, and the tech-obsessed can each find a corner that fits.
Where to Eat and Drink
Savoy Café serves Asian and Western fusion. The Poolside bar is the spot for an easy afternoon, and Harvey’s Bar is where the night winds down with a drink or two. The Club Lounge is reserved for hotel guests who want to unwind and meet people. Rounding out the facilities are a pool, a fully equipped fitness center, and function rooms.

The Rooms
Savoy Hotel Manila has 684 rooms, ranging from 21 to 50 square meters. The lineup starts with the standard Essentials rooms and moves up to the executive suites: The Runway, The Deck, and The Space. Each is meant as a proper respite in the middle of a busy city.

And the name of that first suite isn’t just branding. From the upper floors, guests get views of the airport runway and the metropolitan skyline, which is about as fitting a view as an airport-adjacent hotel could ask for.
