Miss World Philippines Says Only Three Vietnamese Judges Sat on the Panel. Fans Are Still Asking Questions.

Miss World Philippines has issued a clarificatory statement on September 12 addressing accusations of judging bias at the Miss World 2026 coronation night, where the country’s Asia Rose Simpson lost the lone Asia and Oceania slot in the Top 6 to host delegate Lê Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc of Vietnam. The statement, signed by national director Arnold Vegafria, responds to a narrower claim than the Top 6 result itself — one that had spread online in the days after the September 5 finale: that Vietnamese judges outnumbered what fans believed was appropriate for a coronation night held on Vietnamese soil. The Big Four, plus two — and possibly more. There are a lot of beauty pageants out there, and while we try to cover them all as they happen, this post zooms in on the Filipinas crowned domestically to carry the Philippine sash into this year’s major international pageants. We start with the four that make up our Big Four: Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss World, and Miss Earth. Then we add two more — the fast-rising Miss Grand International (via the new Reina Filipinas pipeline) and the recently concluded Miss Supranational — to make it a list of six. One title is already decided; five are still to be settled between now and November, and two of the host organizations haven’t locked their exact dates yet.
