YOU DON’T HAVE to be a VIP to be driven around like one.
That’s the pitch from Avis Philippines, which is marking its 44th anniversary with an executive-class service: a chauffeur-driven car anywhere within Metro Manila for up to 13 hours a day on a single booking, plus airport transfers. Book and pay ahead, and it comes out to roughly half the regular price.
The logic is simple. If your day is a string of meetings across the city, you don’t want to be hailing a cab or booking a ride after every one.
“The car hire service is ideal for people who have a series of scheduled activities within the day at different locations. They can avoid wasting their precious time hailing a taxicab after each appointment,” said Avis Philippines president and CEO Rafael Lucila.
“Our clientele is not limited to executives and VIPs. Those who want to ride in style and experience the comfort of an executive car at a reasonable price also avail themselves of our services. We offer affordable packages that include advanced booking and prepayment for a worry-free ride,” Lucila added.

What It Costs
The advance booking and prepayment system “guarantees passengers a very convenient and quick getaway from origin to destination,” Lucila explained.
Metro Manila car hire: P3,760 regular, or P1,760 for the first two hours when you book and pay ahead, plus P950 for each additional hour. Rides run up to 13 hours and include fuel; toll and parking fees are extra.
Airport transfer: P2,880 regular, or P1,760 when booked early. The service runs between the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals and Makati, BGC, Ortigas, or the Manila Bay area, in either direction.
“For arriving guests, Avis has counters at NAIA terminals so they can immediately head out to their destination. For departing passengers, the service can pick them up at home or their chosen point of origin. They won’t have to use their personal cars and drive to the airport,” Lucila said. A luxury limousine is also available on request.
Who’s Behind the Wheel
Avis says its executive-class service meets international benchmarks, and much of that rests on the drivers.
“All Avis chauffeurs are screened upon employment to meet character, security, and health requirements. They are trained on basic customer service and defensive driving skills,” Lucila said. Chauffeurs take pre-employment medical tests, an annual physical exam, and random drug tests.
“Apart from training, our executive class chauffeurs gain experience in dealing with VIPs through our partnerships with luxury hotels,” he added.
In the Car
Each ride comes with bottled water, a business newspaper, a golf umbrella, and wipes. Wi-Fi is coming soon.
“These are the initial needs of a passenger, especially those arriving from a long trip. Our amenities are specifically chosen to provide respite to guests as they return to their homes or travel to other destinations,” Lucila said.
Beyond the executive class, Avis also offers self-drive rentals, chauffeured daily rentals, and city pick-ups and drop-offs.
