TARGETING YOUNG millennials and full of kilig, the first on-screen pairing of Jameson Blake and Janella Salvador, ‘So Connected,’ premiered at SM Megamall Cinema 7 on Tuesday night, May 22 — a day ahead of its nationwide release on May 23.

Along with members of the press and fellow bloggers, we attended the star-studded red carpet premiere, led by Jameson and Janella themselves. Celebrity guests included Maja Salvador (Janella’s cousin), love teams Iñigo Pascual and Maris Racal, and McCoy De Leon and Elise Joson. Also present were members of the Hashtag boy group, which Jameson is part of, along with the film’s producer, Regal Films’ Lily Monteverde.

Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, ‘So Connected‘ can easily be singled out as a film that tackles real issues facing today’s generation, particularly social media and privacy. Its lighthearted tone works most of the time, though it leans on it even where it isn’t needed. The film is good but has its lapses — helped along by Jameson’s charm, which works just as well for Janella. More on our full review in a separate post.
