Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera Have Wrapped Remember, Their First Film Since Rewind

Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera REMEMBER Movie 2026

Marian Rivera went up to collect Best Actress for Balota at the Golden Screen Awards’ Dekada ceremony and also shared news about her next film. Remember is her reunion with her husband, Dingdong Dantes, and it has finished filming. The Golden Screen Awards returned on October 4 after a decade-long break, this time staged by the Multi-Media Press Society of the Philippines (MMPRESS).

“Dahil sa Rewind ay nagkaroon ng Remember,” she told reporters, meaning Remember exists because of Rewind. She said her role this time is heavier than the one she played in the 2023 film. She also said she hopes audiences turn up for this one the way they did for the first. The rest of the night is in our Dekada Awards recap.

Same Director, Four Studios

Mae Cruz-Alviar, who directed Rewind, is back behind the camera for Remember, a romantic drama. GMA News reports that Joross Gamboa joins the couple in the cast. Gamboa also led the CinePanalo 2026 entry Wantawsan.

Four companies are producing the film: Star Cinema, APT Entertainment, Regal Entertainment, and AgostoDos Pictures, which is Dantes’s own production company. Dantes has described the crew as the Rewind team with some additions. GMA News lists John Leo Garcia as producer.

Filming started in early June in Quebec, Canada, after a send-off in Manila. Dantes said he and Rivera had missed working together. Before this film, they had gone three years without sharing the screen.

The ₱900 Million Shadow

Rewind opened at the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the annual Christmas-season showcase of Filipino films. It became the first Filipino film to pass ₱900 million worldwide and finished its run at ₱924 million, the all-time record until Hello, Love, Again overtook it in November 2024. Remember brings back the same director and the same two leads, so that number will follow it into cinemas. The festival’s own box office has had a rougher few years since, which we broke down in our MMFF 2026 explainer.

Not Headed for MMFF

In June, entertainment press reports citing unnamed sources said Remember would skip MMFF 2026 and aim for a November playdate. The same reports said Star Cinema is co-producing Vice Ganda’s festival entry instead. Neither Star Cinema nor the other producers has confirmed a release window.

What We Don’t Know Yet

There is still no official release date. Beyond “romantic drama” and Rivera’s line about a heavier role, the plot is under wraps. Gamboa’s character, the rest of the cast, and how much of the story takes place in Quebec haven’t been announced. There’s no trailer yet.

We’ll update this piece once a release date is announced.
