MISTERS OF FILIPINAS 2016 crowned its winners a few moments ago tonight at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater, with San Pablo City’s Miguel Mari Guia taking home the Mister International Philippines 2016 title.

The early favorite, Guia will represent the Philippines in the pageant first won by police officer Neil Perez in 2014. Between his performance tonight and the qualities he brings, he looks ready to take on the global stage.

The male pageant, organized by the Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc., drew hundreds of hopefuls earlier in the competition, with only a handful making it to the finals — the culmination of a year-long annual search.

The new Man of the Year Philippines is Albay’s Issa Janda, who faces a tough act to follow this year: the reigning international titleholder is fellow Filipino Karan Singhdole, also a PEPPS product, crowned just last month in Indonesia. It’s been quite a year for Janda, who gained a following after resigning from a different local male pageant earlier this year amid controversy with the organizers. With his physique and striking face, Janda proved he was more than deserving of another win.

This edition of the pageant was genuinely tough competition, but a handful of hunks still managed to rise above the rest — both from the provinces and among those already turning heads for their looks. Christopher Dulagan of Cordillera took Man of the World Philippines 2016, while the ‘gasoline boy’ who first went viral on social media is now Manhunt International Philippines 2016. That’s Charles Joseph Querol of Balagtas, proving once again that dreams really do come true.

Then there’s the first-ever Mister Supranational Philippines, Bohol’s AR Dela Serna, a comeback contestant who placed first runner-up last year. Proof that effort and perseverance pay off.

Another favorite, Negros Occidental’s Vincent Issen Christopher Jarina, won Mister Asian Philippines 2016. Rounding out the winners’ circle are Jeremiah Nicolas of Melbourne, first runner-up, and one of our personal favorites — someone we’d love to see try again in a future edition — Roshson Barman of Biliran, second runner-up.

With his beautiful face, this young guy, Roshson Barman emerged second runner-up in this year’s version of Misters of Filipinas. Given proper training, he would surely make it big here in the years to come.

The 15 semi-finalists included candidates from General Santos City, Quezon City (Fairview), Camarines Sur, Dumaguete City, Batangas, Sibuyan Island, and Davao Del Norte.
