Moira Dela Torre is playing SM Mall of Asia Arena — the Pasay City venue that’s become Metro Manila’s default address for arena-scale concerts — for the first time in her career on October 4, 8 PM. It’s billed as “MOIRA: Where It All Started – Live in Concert,” her fourth major headline show overall, following three sold-out runs at Araneta Coliseum, the Quezon City arena that hosted her prior milestone concerts, in 2018, 2019, and 2023.
Three consecutive sellouts at the same room is one kind of track record. Moving the fourth show to a different arena is Dela Torre testing whether the audience follows her to a new building. Tickets are available through both Ticketmaster Philippines and SM Tickets.
The show also arrives with a milestone attached: Dela Torre is now billed as the first local female solo act to cross 11 million followers on Spotify, the streaming platform where an artist’s follower count tracks how many people actively follow their catalog rather than just encountering a song in passing.
Guests and the Set
The guest lineup spans several corners of the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene Dela Torre has moved through over the past decade: Ogie Alcasid, one of the genre’s longest-running hitmakers; Adie, part of the newer wave of Filipino singer-songwriters who broke out on streaming; Johnoy Danao, a fixture of the same acoustic-pop scene Dela Torre came up in; and December Avenue, the band behind some of the era’s biggest local rock ballads.
The expected setlist leans on the songs that built her catalog: “Malaya,” “Paubaya,” “Tagpuan,” “Tagu-Taguan,” “Before It Sinks In,” and “Ikaw at Ako.” “Paubaya” and “Tagpuan” in particular are the ballads that made Dela Torre’s name as a songwriter for other people’s heartbreak, years before this chapter of her own became public.
What “Where It All Started” Refers To
The title is a specific callback. In 2022, Dela Torre and her husband, musician Jason Hernandez, publicly announced their separation, with both parties addressing it directly and on the record rather than letting it play out as speculation. Hernandez admitted to infidelity; Dela Torre publicly denied that she had cheated, pushing back on the rumors attached to her side of the split. Both statements were covered at the time by outlets including ABS-CBN and Philstar, making this documented public history rather than tabloid inference.
I’m Okay, her 2024 album, processes that chapter directly in its title track. A concert called “Where It All Started” — Balik tayo sa umpisa, “let’s go back to the beginning,” is the accompanying tagline — follows as the next installment of the same arc: Dela Torre returning to the songs that made her, on a stage she’s never played before, a couple of years removed from writing through the hardest version of her own material.
