WE’VE HAD ENOUGH of musicals recently (‘Ang Huling El Bimbo,’ ‘Eto Na! Musikal nAPO Sila‘), so when given a chance to see Dulaang UP’s 43rd Theatre Season opening play, Luigi Pirandello’s masterpiece, ‘Six Characters in Search of an Author’ and its Filipino translation by Rody Vera, ‘Anim na Tauhang Naghahanap ng May-Akda,’ we grabbed it right away. (Thanks to Merwyn of DUP’s marketing for the invite.) It’s been quite a few seasons since we last watched a Dulaang UP (Unibersidad ng Pilipinas) play. Today was a must, to say the least, so we decided to catch the play’s Filipino translation: ‘Anim na Tauhang Naghahanap ng May-Akda’ at 3pm. Directed by Professor Emeritus Tony Mabesa, Founding Artistic Director of Dulaang UP, one could expect nothing less from this seminal work of Modern theater. Written in 1921, ‘Six Characters in Search of an Author’ is a meta-drama about characters looking for an author to finish their tragic stories. CEBU PACIFIC just announced a new route linking Cebu to Macau, further promoting Cebu as a gateway to and from the rest of VisMin. Starting December 07, 2018, CEB will begin operating direct flights from Cebu to Macau, and vice-versa, four-times-a-week every Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flights leaves Cebu at 6:50PM, and arrives in Macau at 10:00PM; while its return flight leaves Macau at 10:45PM, and arrives in Cebu at 01:45AM the next day.
Cebu Pacific was adjudged Best Airline in Launches during the annual SimpliFlying Awards, held in London. The Philippines’ leading airline bested flyadeal and Lufthansa, among others for its #CEBFlyMeTo campaign. The campaign, launched in late-2017, utilized crowdsourcing to find out from netizens which destinations in the Philippines they wanted Cebu Pacific to fly next.
