Rita Daniela stars in ‘Eto Na! Musikal nAPO’; collaborates with Korean artist

WITH HER SINGING PROWESS, Filipina singer-actress Rita Daniela continues to draw attention both locally and abroad.

Rita was handpicked by Korean singer-songwriter Marucci to collaborate on his song ‘Superman,’ which the two performed live for the Philippine press earlier today in Quezon City. The song, Marucci told the press, was inspired by someone battling illness, with proceeds going to that person back in Korea.

Given a shortlist of local artists to choose from, Marucci said he picked Rita himself, the Korean artist told the press during today’s launch of AXM (Alexander x Marucci) in the Philippines. AXM is Marucci’s newly-formed collaboration with Korean singer-actor Alexander Lee, a former member of Korean band U-Kiss. He was first seen on Philippine TV as Heart Evangelista’s ‘My Korean Jagiya’ earlier this year.

While Rita’s talent is seen to be of international caliber, she’s also getting the local spotlight she deserves. The singer is about to star in a theater musical featuring Apo Hiking Society songs this coming August. Rita plays Ana, one of the leads opposite singer Mark Bautista in the musical comedy ‘Eto Na! Musikal nAPO!’

Presented by 9 Works Theatrical and Globe Live, Eto na! Musikal nAPO! will premiere at the Globe Theater in Maybank Performing Arts Theater, Bonifacio Global City on Friday, August 3 and will run until August 26.

The cast includes Jam 88.3 DJ Jobim Javier (son of APO’s Danny Javier) as Butch, Sab Jose as Michelle, Alfritz Blanche as Sonny, Marika Sasaki as Jane, Jon Philippe Go as Ray, Jef Flores as Jaime, Jon Abella as Donnie, Raul Montesa as Ray’s father, and Neomi Gonzales as Ray’s mother. The musical will also feature Vyen Villanueva, Gian Gloria, Shalee Vicencio, Peachy Atilano Guevara, Anton Posadas, Jourdan Bartolome, and Derick Gozos in the production.
