PHUONG KHANH NGUYEN of Vietnam bested 89 other beauties from all over the world to be crowned Miss Earth 2018 at the recently-concluded competition held at the Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines on Saturday night, November 3. Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco of the Philippines crowned the new Miss Earth. To represent her country in the pageant that aims to advance the welfare of the environment was Phuong Khanh Nguyen’s dream since she was 15, when she first watched the Miss Earth pageant held in Vietnam in 2010. Tonight, she didn’t just represent her country well — she’s going home wearing the Miss Earth 2018 crown. Fluent in both Vietnamese and English, the 23-year-old marketing student hailed from Bến Tre, a coastal province located in the Mekong Delta.
