Angeline Quinto marks 15 years in the music industry on August 22 with “AQuinse,” a full-scale anniversary concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, and the timing around it is doing more work than a standard concert announcement usually does. In the same stretch of weeks, Quinto released a new single, confirmed a self-titled variety show, and — easy to miss unless you’re tracking the fine print — quietly returned to Star Music, the label that built her career, after a two-year run with Universal Records. Three relaunches, one month, and a concert built specifically to look back on where all of it started.
The Song Is About Staying. So Is the Career Move.
The new single, “Hindi Mawawala” (“Will Never Be Lost”), was written and produced by Jonathan Manalo, ABS-CBN Music’s head of creatives, content, and operations — the same hitmaker behind much of the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) canon Quinto came up through. It’s a ballad about love that survives distance and time, released under Star Music, the Star Cinema-adjacent label that signed Quinto in 2011 and that she left for Universal Records in 2024. She’s back on Star Music as of this year. Reading the single’s lyrics against that label history is hard to avoid — an anthem about a love that will never be lost, dropped exactly when the artist herself came back to where she started.
What 15 Years Actually Looks Like Onstage
Quinto’s career began in 2011, when she won “Star Power: Sharon’s Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar,” an ABS-CBN television talent competition hosted by veteran actress-singer Sharon Cuneta. “AQuinse” will run through the catalog that followed — “Patuloy Ang Pangarap,” “Till I Met You,” “At Ang Hirap” — alongside a guest roster built to bridge eras rather than just pad the bill: OPM veterans Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Martin Nievera, contemporaries Erik Santos and Enchong Dee, and younger cross-genre names including Skusta Clee and Precious Paula Nicole, a Drag Race Philippines alum. Quinto has described the show as personal rather than ceremonial. “Napakaraming nangyari sa kwento ko na gusto kong maibahagi sa mga tao,” she said — roughly, that fifteen years produced more of her actual story than a highlight reel usually allows, and she wants to share the real version, not just the polished one.
The Concert Isn’t the Whole Plan
Five days after Araneta, Quinto starts a different kind of chapter: “The Angeline Quinto Show,” a self-titled variety program streaming on iWant beginning August 27, mixing celebrity guests with musical performances. Between the label return, the anniversary concert, and a namesake show launching almost back-to-back, this reads less like a single celebratory event and more like a coordinated relaunch — an artist using a milestone birthday-of-a-career to reset every part of the business around her at once, on her own terms, with her name literally on the new show’s title.
