LIKHÂ x Tory Burch: The Ella Bucket Bag Hand-Crocheted by Filipino Artisans

Tory Burch is selling a new version of its Ella hand-crocheted bucket bag in the United States for $350, about ₱22,000, and this one is made in the Philippines. Filipina artisans crochet each bag by hand from abaca, the strong natural fiber taken from a banana relative native to the country. The bag was developed with LIKHÂ, a Filipino-founded social enterprise that works with artisan communities across the Philippines.

Getting it right took two and a half years of sampling and problem-solving, LIKHÂ said on Instagram. The team said the process showed it what matters most: “the hand of the artisan.”

From a Hedgehog Planter to Nordstrom

LIKHÂ takes its name from the Filipino word for “creation.” Nathalie Llorente-Lim founded it in 2018 with her husband, Patrick Lim. The company designs in California and produces with artisan communities across the Philippines, each working with its region’s own techniques and materials, including seagrass, abaca, palm, coconut coir, shell and wood. Many of those materials are leftovers from farming.

Its first big break came at NY NOW, the New York home and lifestyle trade show where American retailers look for new suppliers. LIKHÂ won Best New Product in the handmade global design category there for Hector the Hedgehog, an upcycled planter. In December 2025, the brand launched at Nordstrom, the American department store chain, with home décor and mother-of-pearl accessories.

Llorente-Lim is a Tory Burch Fellow, a program of the Tory Burch Foundation, the designer’s nonprofit for women entrepreneurs. She is also a Vital Voices Global Fellow and runs a business certified as woman-owned in the United States.

The Ella sells under the Tory Burch name, and LIKHÂ has framed the launch as recognition for the artisans who make it. Filipino designers showing in Milan have taken their own labels abroad. LIKHÂ is building its reputation as the maker a bigger label can trust with one of its own designs.
